Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA)

President: The Princess Royal KG GCVO Registered Charity No 244108 RDA sessions would not run, but for the team of volunteers who help for an hour or so each week. New volunteers are always welcomed and training is provided. If you would like to help with these riding sessions - please contact Dawn. Around 20 sessions take place weekly at the The Meadow School of Riding. Some riders have private lessons – others come with a group; usually from schools or day care centres. Dawn Whitmore-Kirby, who holds the RDA qualification and is the Regional Instructor for the East Midlands area, runs all of the sessions. A reception area is available to keep the riders dry and warm whilst waiting. A variety of activities are on offer which encourage independence and help contribute to improvements in a wide range of medical conditions.   Riders may enter competitions ranging from Special Olympics (with working trails and dressage classes both off and on lead rein) to Riding with Music, with optional fancy dress.
